PARAÑAQUE CITY, Philippines — More than 50 young residents of the Bahay Pag-Asa Juvenile Center in Parañaque City received a day of encouragement, fellowship, and practical support as several civic, faith-based, and corporate organizations came together for a community outreach program held on July 18.

The joint initiative was organized by Live Christ Share Christ (LCSC), 365 Saints Educational Mission, Inc., Negosentro Media, and the International Fraternal Order of Eagles Philippine Eagles Pro Patria (IFOE PRO PATRIA). In a multi-sectoral dialogue with Senator Loren Legarda and local government leaders, Globe shared plans to enhance network infrastructure, expand broadband access, and support long-term development priorities across the two provinces. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss initiatives aimed at improving network reliability, expanding broadband access, and strengthening connectivity during emergencies and service disruptions.

As part of its 2026 roadmap, Globe is rolling out network enhancements designed to improve mobile coverage, increase data capacity, and deliver a better digital experience for residents, enterprises, schools, healthcare facilities, and government offices throughout Aklan and Antique.

Globe’s network footprint in Aklan and Antique continues to support the provinces’ growing digital needs. In Aklan, Globe operates more than 100 sites that provide coverage across all 17 municipalities, reaching 72% of the province’s population. Malay, home to Boracay Island, already has access to 5G connectivity, while Fiber-to-the-Home infrastructure is available in 10 municipalities, helping deliver faster and more reliable broadband services to homes and communities.

In Antique, Globe operates more than 80 sites that provide coverage across all 18 municipalities and reach 74% of residents. San Jose already enjoys 5G connectivity, while Fiber-to-the-Home infrastructure is available in 12 municipalities, supporting greater access to digital services for education, business, public service delivery, and everyday communication.

Globe is also expanding Fiber-to-the-Home services to bring faster and more dependable internet access to more households, enabling families to participate more fully in online learning, remote work, digital commerce, and other essential online activities.

Globe’s ongoing growth in network modernization supports its broader goal of expanding digital access and improving connectivity for communities across the Philippines. In Aklan and Antique, these efforts are focused on providing more reliable services that enable education, business, government operations, and everyday communication.

During the discussion, Senator Loren Legarda emphasized that reliable electricity and internet connectivity are vital to inclusive local development. She highlighted the outcomes of a multi-sector briefing with the Aklan Information and Communications Technology Council, the National Electrification Administration (NEA), the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), and the Antique and Aklan electric cooperatives to address service interruptions and advance critical power infrastructure projects. Legarda also noted commitments from local governments and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to support a more enabling environment for telecommunications investments and expand internet access in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. 

Recognizing the growing need for reliable communications during extreme weather events and power interruptions, Globe also highlighted its collaboration with Starlink to strengthen network resiliency. The initiative is expected to provide additional connectivity support in areas where traditional infrastructure may be affected by outages or natural disasters, helping communities remain connected when communication matters most.

These efforts align with Globe’s broader mission of ensuring that every Filipino can participate in the digital economy, regardless of location. Reliable connectivity plays a critical role in education, livelihood generation, public service delivery, disaster preparedness, and community development, particularly in geographically dispersed areas.
